Prof. José Remohí Remohí

He studied medicine at the University of Valencia, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Clinical Hospital of that city and subspecializing in Obstetric Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Irvine, California (USA).
He has also been a maternologist since 1984 and sexologist since 1986. Currently, he is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Valencia, and director of the master’s program there for Advanced Gynecological Endoscopic Surgery and director of IVI University Institute.

Professor Remohí is a member of the Sociedad Española de Fertilidad (Spanish Fertility Society), the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). He also serves on the advisory boards of the European University of Valencia and the European University of Madrid, among others. He is the author of 22 books on reproductive medicine, two of which have been translated into English, one into Portuguese, and one into Chinese.
He has published more than 650 studies in national and international journals, approximately 385 chapters of books related to human reproduction, and has given more than 600 lectures at conferences around the world. With an h-index of 55, he is currently ranked third among Spain’s top researchers in the category of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a reviewer of influential journals such as Human Reproduction, the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, and the Spanish reproductive medicine journal Cuadernos de Medicina Reproductiva. He is a member of the editorial board of the latter, as well as the journal of the Asociación Colombiana de Fertilidad (Colombian Fertility Association), the Revista Ciencia Ginecológica (Journal of Gynecological Science) and the Revista de Obstetricia y Ginecología de Postgrado (Journal of Postgraduate Obstetrics and Gynecology). Professor Remohí has received many distinguished awards for his contributions to the reproductive health field, including the Ares-Serono Foundation Award in 1997, awards from the ASRM in 1995, 1999, 2001, 2008 and 2014; and research awards from the Spanish Fertility Society in 1987, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004. He has also been the recipient of various civic awards, such as the 2002 Premio Protagonistas of the Spanish radio broadcaster Onda Cero in recognition of his scientific career, the Premio Investigación Economía 3 award (Spain, 2004), and the Gold Medal of the City of Valencia awarded to IVI in 2006 in recognition of his pioneering research and teaching efforts, the Empresa Revelación del Año (Best New Company of the Year) award of Expansión magazine in 2009, the Tendencias magazine award in 2015, and an award recognizing IVI as an Honorary Ambassador of the Spanish Brand in Science and Innovation (Embajadores Honorarios de la Marca España) in 2015, among others. Those who know him well described him as, thoughtful, generous, caring, sentimental, and very friendly. He loves the annual Falles celebrations in Valencia, and Valencia C.F. soccer club, and is very proud of his city. He devours historical novels, and likes to spend some time in the gym. He is a great thinker with an entrepreneurial vision, making the perfect team with Prof. Pellicer in establishing this family business around the world.
